“Client's previously used free instruments were no longer visible within the Spitfire LABS plugin after an update.”

Hi Paul. Labs by Spitfire Audio has changed. I can’t find the instruments I used in a previous project. Can we connect for you to help me work out what’s going on? ST

I received the above message from ST and arranged to connect for a remote support session.

About Labs

For a number of years now, Spitfire Audio have been one of the market leaders in producing high-end sample libraries. Alongside their flagship products such as Albion One and their Hans Zimmer collaborations, they have released free libraries branded as ‘Labs’.

In the summer of 2024 Spitfire have released a re-designed Labs plug-in and are making more libraries available for the format but as subscription only. The free libraries are still available in Labs, but are now mixed in with the subscription-only libraries.

This is how I helped ST during our remote support session:

  • Helped ST with a forgotten password problem to access Spitfire Audio Manager
  • Installed updated Labs plug-in
  • Showed ST how to find and open Labs in Pro Tools
  • Showed ST how only display the free libraries
  • Showed ST how to load a library and select a preset
  • Went through some of ST’s previous projects to re-load Labs and confirm everything still working.
ST is a professional composer who uses Pro Tools and plug-ins by Spitfire Audio in their daily work. They regularly book me to remote in to their system to help with technical issues and answer questions about their software.
