Connected remotely with a client to help him sort out some problems on his studio Mac. We needed to do a few tidying-up jobs across a number of support sessions to get his Logic system working correctly, but one error which I found interesting was a bug in the Native Access installer affecting the Evolve Mutations Kontakt sample library.
For some reason, the Installation Paths for both ‘Evolve Mutations’ and ‘Evolve Mutations 2’ were both pointing at the ‘Evolve Mutations 2’ library folder in Native Access.
Native Access have made changing the library paths more difficult in the latest version. This is how I solved the problem:
- I renamed the Evolve Mutations 2 folder in OSX finder
- This broke Native Access’s path to both Evolve Mutations 1 and Evolve Mutations 2.
- I refreshed Native Access and it showed Evolve Mutations 1 and Evolve Mutations 2 as broken
- In Native Access, I clicked on Repair for Evolve Mutations 1
- I set the Installation Path to the original Evolve Mutations folder
- I went back into OSX finder and renamed Evolve Mutations 2 back to its original name
- In Native Access, I clicked on Repair for Evolve Mutations 2
- I set the Installation Path to the original Evolve Mutations 2 folder
Went back into Logic and confirmed that Evolve Mutations was now showing properly and loading in Kontakt.
At the end of solving a number of issues for this client, he was kind enough to write me a nice review. Thank you, Keith!
