Maschine MKII controller hardware not connecting to Windows – Solved

  • by

As part of a visit setting up a Cubase system at a client’s studio in Kent, England, I found a problem with a Maschine MKII controller that wouldn’t connect to my client’s Windows PC.

This issue took a while to solve and involved an email conversation with NI’s support team over many days. Eventually we found the solution, for some reason the NIHardwareAgent software was not running on my client’s PC.

In the picture of Task Manager below, we can see NIHardwareService is running, but not NIHardwareAgent.

Native Instument’s support team supplied us with an uninstaller tool by email, which allowed us to remove and reinstall the NIHardwareAgent.

After following the process, Maschine was able to properly connect to my client’s PC.
