Custom Pro Tools Template – SSL12, SSL Fusion and Warm Audio preamp

Had a request from an existing client, T, who needed help getting his studio configured to make best use of his Pro Tools system with his outboard effects.

He had the following equipment:

• AKG C414 Microphone
• Warm Audio 273 Preamp
• SSL12 Audio Interface
• SSL Fusion Bus Processor
• Guitar and pedals

Everything needed to be correctly connected and set up in a way he could track instruments into Pro Tools through the Warm Audio and then run the whole mix though the Fusion. T wanted to avoid changing any cabling with his new setup.

T and I then spent the next three hours putting that plan into action. Although I wasn’t physically there, I was able to guide T via video call. I downloaded the product manuals and loaded images of the products to help me explain to T how to make the connections. Once we had connected and tested all the hardware, I used Anydesk to remote into T’s PC to build and test his new Pro Tools template.

The job was straightforward and T was very happy to get everything sorted in one afternoon with a minimal amount of stress for himself. After the session, T was kind enough to write me a nice review:
