Resolving Maschine MK3 Missing Content Errors: Correcting Native Access Content Paths.

  • by

Hello Paul. I have Native Instruments Maschine MK3 running in Cubase. I’m getting an error message: “One or more Kontakt instances cannot be recalled correctly perhaps due to missing content”. Can you help? – HE

I received the above request from a client and arranged a time to connect for a remote support session.

Once I was looking my client’s screen using AnyDesk and speaking via a WhatsApp voice call, my client opened Maschine as a plug-in in Cubase and showed me the error message that appeared when he tried to open a Maschine project.

One or more Kontakt instances cannot be recalled correctly, perhaps due to missing content.
Please open any Kontakt instance in your host to resolve the issue.

This was a straightforward issue to fix.

  • I checked my client’s Native Instruments content location and could see that some content folders were saved on an external drive and some content was stored in C:/users/public
  • Asked my client where he wanted his large sample libraries stored and confirmed that he wanted them all on his external disks.
  • Moved the folders to a single location on my client’s external SSD and removed any duplicate folders.
  • Used Native Access’ repair functions to set all the content paths.
  • Opened Maschine as a standalone to test the content loaded correctly.
  • Opened Maschine as a plug-in in Cubase to test the content loaded correctly.
